Aquaculture project 2010

In November 2010 until February 2011 a team of CWON Australia volunteers spent three months in Chitwan constructing a small-scale fish pond, to provide CWON with an ongoing income source. The pond was stocked with 5 varieties of carp and approximately 120 fish in total. Income generated from the pond has provided a roof for a particularly distressed family and has contributed towards emergency medical care of a number of people.

During their time in Chitwan the volunteers also visited a local village called Jutpani and conducted hygiene training classes with the school children.
