Health promotion 2011
In December 2011 a team of nine Australian volunteers spent the month undertaking hygiene training and health promotion in the village of Jutpani. Important data on the residents of Jutpani was also gathered and will be analysed to determine the best methods to help the village.

The pinnacle of the volunteers work was a one-day health camp in which our team assisted local health professionals to provide medical care to 400 people who would otherwise not be able to afford treatment. Follow-up from the health camp is still ongoing. So far three operations have been performed on people who attended the camp.
Surgeries funded by CWON Australia in 2011:
-An obstetric fistula was repaired,
-Tonsils were removed from a woman who had been suffering from inflammed tonsils for over three years and
-A 3cm stone was removed from the bladder of 5 year old Dipa.
